Vote for Jeff Glass

I am running for a position of director on the board.  My motive for running is simply this.  I moved here about a year ago.  I drove all around Comanche Cove looking at all the houses and properties and realized that there were some properties that needed to be cleaned up.  I started attending the board meetings and joined the Commanche Cove Facebook Pages.  I noticed the same problems that many of you have noticed - a lack of transparency and communication, failure to follow the bylaws and state HOA laws, confusion regarding some of the roles and responsibilities of some members, and the lack of standard procedures and accountability used in business.  So, because of my education, background and experience I knew that I could help the members of Comanche Cove have a better experience regarding governance and a better experience regarding developing a closer community.  I realized as long as I live here, I should help this community.  In the last two months I have spent approximately 40 hours studying our bylaws and the state HOA laws and I found another set of state codes that also applies to HOA's.  I developed the new website for Comanche Cove for free!

My Background

Graduated from UTA and Southwestern Seminary.  Heavily involved in college ministry for 4 years and helped start two churches. Field Supervisor over 6 employees for a landscape business; Owned and operated two businesses for 35 years; Managed a Pizza Hut with 35 employees; Area Manager for Public Storage supervising 7 property managers, and now a self-taught stock trader working at home.

Skills and Qualities

As a student and in business and ministry, I developed the skills of planning, organizing, scheduling, leading, evaluating, communicating, analyzing, synthesis, team development and more that I don't even realize myself.  Others taught me and mentored me to develop integrity, dependability, reliability, efficiency, standards of excellence, prudence, diligence, giving, endurance, and a servant's heart.  I have always even as a youth been honest and self-motivated.  I can see what needs to be done and I do it.

GOALS & IDEAS

In addition to the normal goals of the HOA such as road repair, I would like ...
  • To adopt communication systems that would facilitate the flow of information in a timely and efficient manner throughout all levels of the HOA in governance as well as volunteers using emails and the new website which allows you to make comments.
  • To develop a system to explore and implement all avenues of obtaining the highest values of goods and services that would provide the best benefits and reduce expenditures for the HOA.
  • To continue to expand the use of committees as a means of allowing the members to have greater authority and participation in all activities of the HOA.
  • To increase the number of HOA officers who will help develop and implement a system of; checks and balances, reporting and accountability, enacting consequences for dereliction of duties, and maintain adherence to all governing documents of the HOA and the state of Texas.
  • And of course, to allow the keeping of chickens but not roosters.
